Ibrahim Jaddoa Al-Jboory: BSc in Plant Protection (1976), MSc in Entomology -Acarology, Baghdad University (UB) 1978, and PhD in Plant Protection, Agricultural Zoology-Acarology from Bonn University, Germany 1987. He started his job in 1980 as a lecturer at College of Agriculture, UB;Professor 2000, Dean Assistant 1995-1997; Chairman of Plant Protection Department 2001-2004;President of the Iraqi Society for Plant Protection 1996-2024;Executive Committee member, and Vice President of the Arab Society for Plant Protection(ASPP) 2000-2017;President of ASPP 2017 – 2022, www.asplantprotection.org ;Editor-in-Chief of the Arab Near East Plant Protection Bulletin (ANEPPB);Retired University Professor 2009;lives in Jordan since 2005 acting as a freelance consultant in plant protection; teaching intensive course pest and their control 2008 until 2022 in IAMB-Italy; established the date palm website www.iraqi-datepalms.net since 2007;new records of 21 beneficial insects ,nematodes, fungi and pests to the Iraqi and Arab countries fauna; published 32 extension brochures, booklets and leaflets for the Iraqi Ministry of Agriculture and UB; attended more than 54 international conferences and 55 national and regional workshops; 18 team leader or member in conducting studies to solve agriculture pests in Iraq; published more than 114 scientific articles, and 55 educational articles in the Iraqi newspapers, magazines and media ; 42 international training and visits; supervisor for 22 postgraduate students (MS and PhD);research lines Acarology, date palm pests and IPM; he wrote, edited, or contributed to books,booklets or chapters in 17 books dealing with palm and other crop pests and climate change. Acting as an international consultant and senior scientist by FAO-RNE since 2020 up to the present in the fields of Integrated Pest Management(IPM) projects, he participated in preparing the scientific review of the impact of climate change on plant pests printed in 5 languages by FAO-IPPC 2021, and he has continuously other activities in different fields of interest. Member of the Committee of Trustees of the National Center for Palms and Dates Prize in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, recipient of the Khalifa International Award for Date Palms and Agricultural Innovation in its 16th session for the year 2024 in the category of distinguished personality in the field of palms, dates and agricultural innovation, United Arab Emirates.
