Biography
Prof. Bouzid Nasraoui is currently a Technical Expert working in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. His official profession is University Professor in the National Agronomic Institute of Tunisia INAT, (Agronomic Faculty) of the University of Carthage, Tunis. His professional carrier is basically in the Plant Health field where he cumulated experience and expertise over more than 40 years that he started in late 1980 as Agricultural Engineer and progressed in his carrier to obtain the highest university education grade which is University Professor in 2000, specialized in plant protection generally and plant pathology specifically. His expertise in plant health specialty comes from his university teaching, scientific research in laboratories and practical research on the field through many Tunisian and international developmental projects leading to an internal and external high impact of him. He advised 8 doctorate dissertations, 11 master theses and 41 end of studies engineer projects. He wrote or participated in writing 8 books in his specialty, published 112 of scientific papers, founded an English scientific revue called “Tunisian Journal of Plant Protection” and was and continue presently to be its editor-in-chief (www.tjpp.tn), was decorated in 2003 by the National Order of Merit (Chevalier) in the Education and Sciences field. Besides his technical expertise, he has also a good experience in the administration management where he was nominated the Director of the Higher School of Agriculture of Kef ESAK, University of Jendouba, during 11 years, then the Director General of the Plant Protection Department of the Tunisian Ministry of Agriculture between 2008 and 2012, then the Director General of the National Agronomic Research Institute of Tunisia INRAT, University of Carthage, between 2017 and 2018. He was also the Vice-President of the Arab Society for Plant Protection (2017-2022).
Education
Prof. Bouzid Nasraoui had obtained the Doctorate (PhD) in Plant Pathology in 1992 from the Agronomic Faculty of Gembloux, University of Liege, Belgium, the Advanced Studies Diploma (eq. Master) in Plant Physiology in 1984 from the Faculty of Sciences of Tunis, University of Al-Manar, Tunis, the Diploma of Specialized Agricultural Engineer (eq. Master) in Plant Protection in 1983 and the Diploma of Agricultural Engineer (eq. Bachelor) in Plant Production in 1980 from the National Agronomic Institute of Tunisia INAT, University of Carthage, Tunis. He also spent a sabbatical leave of nearly one year in the Agricultural College of the University of Columbia-Missouri in the USA between 2001 and 2002.
